«O
boi
vai ao Presépio. O boi é paciente e não tem pressa de chegar. Caminha e
pára. Rumina e pára. Rumina erva e rumina distraídas névoas perdidas no
caminho. Quando alguém passa muito rápido, o boi não se assusta. Nem fica agitado.
Levanta a cabeça. Pára a ouvir a pressa de quem passa depressa. E parado, rumina.»

CHRISTMAS IN A CHRISTIAN FAMILY
©José Emídio |
All disappointments come from false
securities!
These days, the "world" runs so that
everything is in its place and not misses anything. "So, I'm safer" - say the mothers of this world. Nevertheless,
christians in Christmas celebrate the insecurity, the fragility, the detachment:
they sing what is missing. Unpredictability is the great principle of biology!
The unpredictability
is the basis of diversity of Life: without diversity there will not be life-with-future -
only abortions. At Christmas too. Not the turkey is, not the cod or the french
toast ["rabanadas"] that
are the center of the Christmas table, much less the "gifts" or the
Christmas tree: the center is the insecurity, the fragility, the detachment [desprendimento]. These
are the true bonds, real security. That is, the anti-power.
Pull the plant is mindless violence: You
can only kill the plant!
Later or sooner, things of this "false world"
will eventually reveal his idol’s face: because he cannot give what he promised
you, he will fail and will reveal his true lie’s face. This false world we build
wants to convince us that if embracing the Cristiano Ronaldo equipment (CR7), this makes us "a
machine" unbeatable, always looking for "more" victories, for
more success.
If we pull over by the plants they will not grow
faster so: before, will leave its delicate roots. Later or sooner, we will
vomit blood if we continue with the scam [esquema
desonesto] of "work by progressive objectives": will
need a new version of the guillotine for a new French Revolution.
It is the weakness of a Yacinth underlying
the life-with-future: not the plastic flowers. The Dinosaurs were 'that
machine'. Facing the small fishes or the small batrachians, who would say that those
would be less likely to survive? But that's what happened: the Dinosaurs did
not evolve; they were too strong-hard. Our world thinks only of
"infallible and endless machines ", CR7 type: this world is totally sick, destined not to survive,
because it is a killer and bloodthirsty. This system idolizes hard and hates
fragile (vide, unemployed young people and the aged). But the fragile
place it in court – they are the proof of its failure! The weakness is ductile and ephemeral.
Three words. I ask: Three defects? Biology taught us that, after all, are three virtues.
Thus, the life contradicts the world we build. Who is wrong: the Life that God
created or the world we are building? The love between two human beings is a
strong-hard or a fragile reality? How we would like it to be: strong-hard or
weak? When that love is fertile: when their strength exclude its fragility?
Something beyond
At Christmas christians contemplate – in a child
- the insecurity, the fragility, the detachment. Christians believe this is a
God worth [em que vale a pena] believing,
betting [apostar]: they are
completely irresponsible, is’nt it?!
Christians declare: "our" Life is like that child
there lying in a manger - life inhabited by a fragile God, a God that lurks at the
heart of everything that lives
in fragile.
The Christmas Party is then the Joy of Fragility and Slow
(vide: "the humble joy of the slaves",
Lk 1:48; the 'however' of a child's time,
Lk 1:80). Christmas Party is also a hope inside an expectation, not a passive
expectation but an active
chamber!
At Christmas, fancy be small child! Feel like being «in-fante»
(= "one who still cannot speak"; one who have no idea about "time
run", "city traffic", noise, etc.). Faced with a child,
suddenly, all that fills us with concern (or whatever until then have been very
important to us), fades - the power falls to the ground, as in a catastrophe
(Math 2,3.8: «the fragile place the system in question»). Christmas is the
celebration of the "fall of the tyrannical power" of all Herods who
thought they would never be overturned.
The Christian Hope teaches us that this world has to
be sabotaged (Math 2:12) to make way for a "world other" based on the ability to wait for the human new’s ("the Kingdom of God's righteousness"; Math 6:33)
and the welcome the new nature ("the
lilies of the field"; Math 6:28)) - simply because nor we nor the Financial
Markets are the owners of the Great Novelty. This world we are building must be
based on the realization of full human relations. All kinds of goods
- computers, fashion / clothing, footwear, cars, movies, hairstyles, art, film,
food and beverages, toys, books, tablets, gifts, Facebook, vacation travel,
money, work, smart phones, etc. - aim
to full human relations or become fatal in goods. In this regard, the
Christmas Hope Christian only know to ask a question: "but for what all this things?"
If it’s to go face-to-face instead of facebook, all right, all right…
"The await of the Christian hope [a espera da Esperança cristã] is to be
experienced in the continuity of this present life. Are
mistaken who think that hope has nothing to do with this life and its tasks.
On the contrary, hope follows the course of everyday life. "(José Comblin
- Brasil)
The Christian hope is an agonizing struggle in this short,
persistent struggle, confident, cheerful. "Hope is a new experience of the time. It gives all times, at all stages of a value fullness" (José Comblin - Brasil)
And that's why I was glad that the request of João and
Ema to take place: in this and in every Christmas, we expect an irresponsible
responsibility of the "little children" (Mk 10:13) who want to join
around the common-table
[priest Leonel Oliveira]!
This year we have a richer Christmas: joined us Lucy
by the hand of Luís. Was Lucy who, this year, ventured to come from so far to
this far place (like the Pope Francis…): she brought
light to the Child Jesus crib! And suddenly everything makes life interesting
(John 9:25). Obrigado to Luís and
Lucy. (This celebration goes on…)
"The ox
goes to the crib. The ox is patient and does not rush to get. Walks
and stops. Rumina and stops. Rumina grass and ruminates distracted mists lost on the way. When someone goes very fast, the ox is not
frightened. Or is busy. Lift up is head. Stop listening to the rush of those
who pass quickly. And still cud..." [Nuno Higino - Portugal]
